This fabulous 1950’s black taffeta party dress features a beautiful design of flocked flowers with a diamanté stone set in the center by Gay Gibson, a very well-known designer of the period. It was one of many Kansas City Missouri labels. The women’s clothing label thrived during the 1930’s – 1950’s producing mid-priced clothing. The dress has a Peter Pan collar and cap sleeves and a very full skirt that can have a crinoline underneath. There is a short back zip as well as a side zip, and the dress is in excellent vintage condition, with a minor bit of flocking missing from the odd flower. It is a small size, but very beautiful, and classic in the style of the era.
